What is a Farmer’s Co-op?

An agricultural cooperative, also known as a farmers’ co-op, is a cooperative where farmers pool their resources in certain areas of activity. It is run for the people, by the people. Instead of being privately owned, our members invest in the store.

Can I shop even if I’m not a member?

Yes. Everyone is welcome to shop at the Co-op.

If you are interested in becoming a member, please stop by our beautiful new location on Coffeen Avenue in Sheridan. One of our friendly staff members will be happy to give you an application and provide you with more details. 

What’s the difference between an LLC and a cooperative?

A limited liability company (LLC) is an alternative type of business entity. An LLC is like a corporation regarding limited liability, and it’s like a partnership regarding the flexibility of dividing profit among the owners. A cooperative is a farm, business, or other organization that is owned and run jointly by its members, who share the profits or benefits.
